Job Description

We are looking for a Machine Operator to be based in a well established Preston manufacturing company. Your duties will include setting up, operating and dismantles of a variety of color press and ancillary equipment. You will also perform functional quality tests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the functions and basic mechanical workings of most machines under limited supervision
Performs appropriate functional quality tests for operations performed on all equipment
Has a working knowledge of job related policies and procedures
Complies with all required safety practices and regulations
Trains new operators in finishing operations

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
To produce rolls of self-adhesive labels, tickets & tags
Consistently achieve productivity targets
Maintain optimum quality at all times
Complete accurate job records - time recording
Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep press and work area clean at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Good general level education
Must have 1 - 3 years of related experience operating finishing and/or label conversion equipment
Experience of operating high-speed production machinery
Experience of working on a production environment to high quality standards and meeting targets and deadlines
General computer skills and numerical skills
Ability to use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills
Flexible approach with the ability to follow detailed instructions

Rate: The salary range is from £22,000 to £26,000 plus this then attracts a 20% shift allowance on top of the base salary.
*Please note that full 37.5 hr per week will be paid still during the COVID hours in line with all other full time staff even though you will be working shorter shifts for H&S reasons*
