Our client based in the Newport area is looking to recruit a permanent Major Works Team Leader to lead and develop on the implementation and expansion of the Major Works Team.
You will be providing specification and planning detail of the execution of internal and external works.
To line manage trade staff in their delivery of the organisation programme, supported by external contractors.
To ensure that all properties are maintained to WHQS and that property matters conform to current legislation, health and safety, CDM Regulations and contract procurement rules.
Your primary duties will be:
Ensuring works are planned and costed
Ensuring performance and productivity measures are met to the required and agreed objectives and financial requirements.
Ensuring all works are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
Ensuring effective use of the material supply chain.
Essential you have a proven track-record of working with a direct labour workforce in maintenance within housing maintenance environment or Contracting arm.
You need to have knowledge and experience at management or similar within a large complex organisation.
Must have a sound knowledge of buildings and property services relating to residential premises and knowledge of the social housing sector.
You will need to have understanding of the regulations relating to asbestos management, statutory legislation and regulations relating to construction and maintenance repairs.
A full driving licence is required and a proven track record of showing leadership skills.
