Job Description

I am currently working with a fire commissioning company based in the Peterborough area and they are on the search for a well established management accountant. The company has been about since 2007, starting as a small family run business of 7 initial staff. Since then they have seen the company grow and develop into a team of 43 people and the company now having an annual turnover of over 10million. This year they are already well on target to achieving their yearly goal and are expected to be well in region of £12million turnover by 2022.

As above the reason for the job opening is due to company expansion and the accounts team are therefore looking for some additional support.

As a Management Accountant you will reporting to the head of accounts and some of your duties will include things such as;
- Management Accounts
- Preparation of year end
- Cashflow forecasting/ accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Corporation tax
- Journal Entries
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Vat returns
- Identifying any cost savings for the company i.e. fuel cards

In terms of the person that they are looking for, they really want someone who will be able to walk into the business and to hit the ground running. The person must be outgoing, customer centric and also forward thinking. They love people in the business to bring in any new ideas and they are open to trying things out if it means that it will benefit the company and further support its growth. Their culture is very much `the customer comes first` and so this person will really need to care about the work that they do and have a real passion to make a difference. There is a real family feel in this company and so you can be sure that you will have a great support unit of individuals around you to work with.

Requirements of the role:

- Management accounts is a must
- SAGE 50 Experience
- Corporation tax experience
- CIS Scheme knowledge
- Ability to raise journals
- An appetite to develop or change processes to improve efficiency
- Efficient preparation of year end statutory financial statements including preparation of reporting pack for external reporting accountants
- Knowledge of Financial governance legislations and policies

There may be occasions when it is necessary for duties to be undertaken away from the office therefore there may be overnight stays which will be required away from home.
