Job Description

This Pitstone based industrial company are looking for a Manufacturing Operative to provide support and flexibility to their expanding Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehouse, Service, Production and Installation team. They are looking for someone who wants to be part of their family run team and immerse themselves in what they do.

They are looking for a good handy man who is good at odd jobs and assembly work using hand tools to screw things together getting things ready to go out to carriers and someone who doesn't mind being in a factory environment. You will be prepared to learn a variety of fabrication and welding type machines, work safely, work flexible in a team and be able to complete hand written production records. You will also be prepared to learn and develop skills and have general aptitude for mechanically engineering, assembly and machining. The client would prefer you to have worked in an environment with metal, steel or welding previously but this is not essential.

The ideal candidate will learn the day to day operation of the manufacturing facility in all its guises, work with the FABS department carrying our various general duties including machining, hand tools, grinding, polishing, assembly and warehouse type duties. You will also be expected to learn to operate several production machine variants and fork lift rucks, assist with the preparation for products ready for customers delivery, assist with installations off site and also assist with stocktaking.

The role is offering a competitive salary between £19,000 - £22,000 per annum and is permanent role working 08:00-16:30pm. This role will initially be based in the Berkhamsted office but will be moving across to the Pitstone office after a while so a car driver will be desirable who is happy to commute to both offices.
