Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the MOD who are looking for an Executive Officer! The role is a temporary part-time assignment, 22.15 hours per week, initially for 3 months paying £13.20 per hour.

Main responsibilities:

Army Media and Communications (AMC) is responsible for the overall approach to Army communications and engagement efforts, delivering against the Army Communications and Engagement Strategy to raise awareness, understanding and to shape public opinion in favour of the Army

  • The post holder will also have the responsibility of the continuing evolution of the Army digital ecosystem covering websites, intranets, social media channels and future digital channels.

  • They will support the C1 Digital and the C2 Digital Platform Manager by managing all tactical digital communications and administering the Armys digital channels (this includes Army.mod.uk, social media channels, rich media channels, internal digital channels) and third-party digital channels where there is an agreement in place. This is the front line resource for Armys digital communications.

    Key tasks include:

  • Publish, edit, remove and archive content across all digital channels. This also includes the handling and execution of change requested by Army stakeholders. Where appropriate agree schedule of content publishing / deletion

  • Support the Planning and Campaign leads in the development and implementation of creative content and engagement ideas for reaching Army target audiences

  • Moderate online community comments and censure content based on relevant Defence guidelines

  • Maintain awareness of digital channels usage and emerging trends

  • Strategy - Digital on the latest research and best practice.

  • Administer the digital channels, such as channel user management, handling technical enquiries, carrying out technical maintenance (technical fault reporting, broken links, corrupt pages, etc.), and liaise with Armys technical suppliers to maintain security of the channels.

  • Support the Line Manager in the coordination of workload and effort as between fellow Digital Channels Managers, ensuring there is out of hours coverage when required (in agreement with Line Manager).

    KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES:

    Publish edit and archive content - all digital channels.

    Support the Planning/Campaign leads - development & implementation of creative content.

    Moderate online comments in line with Defence Guidelines.
