Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a temporary Junior Marketing Officer/Marketing Officer to cover a maternity leave, as part of the Leadership and Lifelong Learning marketing team. Leadership and Lifelong Learning includes the Talent Management and the NHS Leadership Academy and sits within the national NHS People Directorate.

Location: working from home but should the role return to office, this will be based in Leeds city centre but we are happy to speak with candidates based around the UK

Salary: £11.76ph rising to £12.74 after 12 weeks

Contract length: Temporary assignment until the end of November 2021

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a number of high-profile campaigns to help deliver the objectives of NHS People Plan and support leaders in health and care over the coming months.
The post holder will be work closely with the Marketing Manager to help devise and implement marketing plans and activity for the range of NHS Leadership Academy products and services. This includes:
o Delivering and evaluating highly targeted campaigns using direct marketing, PR, digital marketing, social media, sponsorship, advertising and the development of related editorial and AV content
o Using audience insight to develop and tailor messaging and content appropriate for diverse target audiences
o Project managing marketing approaches; ensuring cost efficiency
o Managing and developing relationships with internal and external suppliers to deliver marketing activities and solutions
o Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and identifying opportunities for joint working where appropriate
o Working closely with policy and programme leads, and marketing and communications leads across NHS England and Improvement, other Arm`s Length Bodies (ALBs) and local teams to deliver marketing activity
o Represent the Academy at corporate virtual events (where necessary)

Knowledge and and experience

o Proven success in a marketing role with experience of using the full marketing mix.
o Specialist knowledge in a relevant subject to post graduate level
o Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of marketing campaigns.
o Experience of managing a range of tasks simultaneously and delivering output on time and to a good standard.
o Experience in marketing and stakeholder management to build relationships to get work done.
o Basic knowledge of health information systems development.
o Has some experience of using the Adobe suite.
o Ideally has previous experience in similar role in public sector but a strong marketing background in other sectors will be considered.
o Ideally has awareness of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.

o Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences. Evidence of success in effective project and programme management
o Skilled junior marketer with demonstrable experience of marketing success.
o Can hit the ground running and can pick up new tasks quickly and complete them accurately.
o Highly motivated and has the skill to overcome obstacles to ensure successful delivery of tasks.
o Demonstrable experience of using the full suite of digital and offline marketing channels.
o Good attention to detail.
o Ability to work to tight deadline when needed and deliver on time.
o Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in responding to role demands.
o Skills for quickly developing key relationships and maintaining networks in a remote environment.
o Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demand.
