Job Description

Do you have an excellent understanding of mental health issues and support?

Do you understand what it takes to support people to achieve independence and embrace their mental health recovery?

Are you a skilled communicator and listener, with a great eye for detail and a passion to make a difference?

If so, read on...

On behalf of a national charity, I am seeking a compassionate and motivated mental health recovery worker to support people who are experiencing mental distress that is impacting on their day to day lives, within Derby city.

Employed on a PART TIME basis, you will work closely with an established team, empowering the people you support to drive their own recovery.

You will manage your own caseload and deliver one to one support. You will also be responsible for signposting and navigating to other agencies, developing and delivering recovery workshops that promote coping techniques, stress management and build confidence (to name a few), as well as working with peer and volunteer support groups and maintaining other lines of communication, such as telephone support.

I am looking for the qualities that you can`t teach: empathy, professionalism, the passion to make a difference, and an understanding that mental illness does not choose who it will affect.

The ideal candidate will also have excellent report writing and administration skills, be competent in working within a team and be confident to deliver workshops, as well as liaise with external agencies, such as GPs, local authority representatives, and other charities.

This is the ideal opportunity for someone who has professional experience in a similar mental health setting, or a recent graduate who has secured practical experience from their studies and is looking for their first hands on role.

In return, you will receive a competitive annual salary, generous annual leave allowance, genuine career progression and other exciting benefits.

To avoid missing out on this exciting Mental Health Recovery Worker opportunity, please apply online today or forward your CV via email.
