Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MHS Service Engineer based in Greater London, offering a very competitive salary of £22,000 to £27,000 per annum, a work van, tools and a touchpoint benefit scheme.
We are a recognised global leader for the supply of customer Shopping trolleys, Shop fitting solutions, Logistics and Industry products, looking to add to our outstanding engineer team.
In this role :
1. You will be required to undertake a comprehensive repair and maintenance service to mechanical/electrical/hydraulic equipment at various locations throughout the UK. You will be requested to fit/strip retail equipment component and carry out general maintenance duties at various sites of work. You will carry out reactive maintenance and planned preventative inspections and testing on various electro-mechanical equipment.

2. You will work alone from a purpose kitted service vehicle repairing a variety of equipment from the rear of the vehicle

3. You will liaise with the Service Office through telephone and email and will have an understanding of Smartphone use relating to Apps and email

As the ideal candidate you will

o Live in the Surrey/Kent area.
o Be punctual, reliable and flexible.
o Be customer focused, friendly and able to liaise fully with our Customers at site
o Must have good electrical and mechanical fault finding ability coupled with maintenance skills with suitable qualifications.
o Must have experience with both 230V and 415V electrical systems and hydraulics.
o Ideally suited to individuals from a heavy engineering background as much of the work will involve troubleshooting and repairing Dock Levellers, Scissor Lifts, Cardboard Balers and Industrial Compactors
o Full driving licence essential with minimal endorsements


The salary for this role is £22,000 to £27,000, typically 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday with one weekend in every three to be on call. While on call the Saturday will have 8 hours guaranteed at time and a half, the Sunday will be 6 hours guaranteed at x2 pay.

4. You will complete both electronic and written worksheets as required

5. You will be aware of the Company Policy relating to provision of working equipment and ensure any damage to equipment is reported and any lost equipment is reported immediately.

6. You will attend all relevant training sessions that are deemed necessary by the group subject to reasonable notice.
