Job Description

NHS Digital - Finance Assistant
Location: Leeds (Hybrid working 1 day minimum in the office)
Hours: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)
Pay: £13.12 per hour

This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.

As a Finance Assistant in this area you will be working on key transaction processing areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable or fixed assets, ensuring the timely and accurate processing, authorisation, recording and reconciliation of the high-volume of transactions that are fundamental to the smooth day-to-day operation of the Finance Team and wider organisation.

Role Overview:

  • Be Responsible for chasing and monitoring time sheet data and ensuring all information is received in advance of the prescribed deadlines
  • Manage reports and monthly payroll and temporary staff reconciliations
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies by analysing financial transaction data, from a series of sources
  • Preparation of monthly payroll journals including accruals
  • Data cleansing of starters, leavers and departmental changes
  • Ensuring that accounts information is promptly and accurately recorded, referenced, reconciled and reported in line with standing financial instructions and audit requirements

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear planning and organisation skills
  • Basic knowledge of salary sacrifices schemes
  • Accounts Experience
  • Proficient use of MS office programmes especially MS Excel
  • Must have experience in finance
  • Must be able to effectively work from home
  • Knowledge of accruals and payment deductions
  • Good working knowledge of GDPR policies and procedures
