** BRAND NEW Support Worker **

** Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire **

** E 7am/7.30am/8am - 3.30pm/4pm and L 12pm - 8pm/9pm **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for brand new Support Workers for an adult`s residential home within Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others. This role is to work alongside and support a 6 bedded residential service supporting adults aged 62 years - 80 years with Learning Disability; mild to moderate, Mental Health and physical needs. The service users are very capable, very active and very chatty. The service users have been in this home long term for approx. 30 years.

They are passionate about ensuring they give the best possible care to their residents and provide a happy environment for both the service users and staff.

About the role; you will be supporting the service users with being out in the community, verbal prompts and very minimal personal care such as helping to brush their hair or a little scrub between the shoulder blades. A typical day would entail getting the service users up, ensuring they have breakfast, bath/showered, take them to day centres or days out or staying at home, helping with any appointments, shopping and any other day to day general tasks, dinner, getting ready for bed and more. The role is based around a lot of empowering and supporting the service users independence.

About the ideal candidate; it is not essential that you have experience, but it is essential that you are empathetic and compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. If you do not hold any relevant qualifications, you will have to complete the care certificate and be willing to work towards gaining extra qualifications. Your personality profile is the most important factor as we are looking for chatty, outgoing, active, bubbly people who are enablers, empowering, motivating and motivated, use own initiative and so forth alongside having a driving licence. It would be ideal for you to be a driver, but we can consider non drivers.

In return; this role can either offer a part time and permanent role working on average 15 hours per week over 4 weeks including every other weekend or a permanent part time role which will be discussed in interview for hours. You will work a mix of E 7am/7.30am/8am - 3.30pm/4pm and L 12pm - 8pm/9pm. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on interview. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
