Job Description

We are looking for 30 Executive Officer's to work for the Home Office based at Kirkstall, this is a full time temporary role covering 37 hours per week. The rate of pay will be £9.06 and will increase to £12.06 after 12 weeks.

You will be working as a National Referral Mechanism Decision Maker

The Home Office is one of two Competent Authorities in the UK to consider referrals of individuals identified as potential victims of modern slavery. The National Referral Mechanism (NRM) Hub in UK Visas & Immigration is a national unit covering England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland which considers referrals of non-EEA nationals who are potential victims of modern slavery. The unit is committed to completing all NRM decisions allocated by the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU) in the National Crime Agency in a timely manner, to ensure vulnerable individuals who are considered to have suffered exploitation are granted access to support at the earliest opportunity.

The candidate's main duties will be to work in a well-established and highly driven operational team and to meet policy and (internal/external) stakeholder expectations by making NRM decisions in an accurate and timely manner.

The candidates will be expected to perform the following key tasks:

o complete initial Reasonable Grounds decisions on NRM referrals;
o complete substantive Conclusive Grounds decisions;
o populate relevant spreadsheets and databases to accurately track potential victims of modern slavery;
o make relevant referrals to police/intelligence/Immigration Enforcement International and other internal/external bodies;
o communicate with internal/external stakeholders;
o deal with second stage requests and decisions relating to reconsideration requests and litigation challenges; and
o other ad hoc case preparation duties as and when required.

Successful candidates will be provided with full training and be supported through close mentoring by experienced members of the team.


You will have to carry out CTC clearance which can take up to 3 months for the clearance to come back
