Job Description

Online IT Tutor Part Time

IT Tutor wanted for a busy online eLearning provider, to help support students on an ad-hoc basis.
All students study online via distance learning, and so this role is open to anyone living in the UK with the right experience.

Requirements
" Experience in IT and Computing - Covering a range of subjects our IT and Computing course covers a range of subjects relating to digital technologies, including eCommerce, software design, computer programming, and IT in the modern workplace.
" Access to an internet connection and, if possible, a telephone and webcam for conducting student support sessions.

Responsibilities
" Marking of undergraduate level assignments - OBS courses are flexible, and so students are permitted to submit assignments at any point during their enrolment.
" Providing email/telephone/video-call support to students on request - study is a primarily student-led experience, meaning that tutors will not be responsible for delivering lectures or conducting seminars. Instead, students are able to contact tutors for advice and guidance on subjects they might be struggling with.

Benefits
" Tutor work is flexible, and can be arranged around existing commitments where necessary. Work can be accepted or declined according to your schedule.
" Due to the student-led nature of our courses, work is available consistently all year round, and will not fluctuate around term-dates and exam seasons.
" Because courses are entirely online, tutor work can be conducted anywhere and at any time.
" Good rates of pay - students are able to submit assignments as often as they need to pass the unit, meaning that tutors can often earn more than the base rate for a single unit.
" Our students are studying towards Ofqual approved university-level qualifications, meaning that this is also a great opportunity to build experience in the tutoring field.
