Operational Support Officer - HMCTS (Preston)

Our client, a reputable government organisation, is hiring for an Operational Support Officer to join their team in Preston. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support the justice system through excellent customer service and administrative expertise.

What you'll be doing:
* Prepare for, facilitate, and record all types of hearings, ensuring smooth proceedings.
* Provide users and stakeholders with information or signpost them to appropriate support via face-to-face, telephone, and written communication.
* Use HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to guide users to relevant services, ensuring clear and specific support.
* Follow complaints procedures, support users through resolution processes, and update case management systems as needed.
* Identify risks related to HMCTS buildings, inform the Senior Person on Site, and respond promptly to safety concerns.
* Process work according to standard operating procedures to meet performance targets and maintain service standards.
* Handle case files with accurate data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention policies.
* Manage jury service tasks, including scheduling, deferrals, and expense processing.
* Assist with listing and scheduling to optimise judicial time and respond to urgent matters.
* Provide judicial support such as diary management and administrative assistance.
* Support enforcement activities, including financial assessments and producing basic reports.
* Contribute to health and safety operations, including facility checks, issue logging, and safety governance.

What you'll bring:
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple contact channels.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to follow procedures accurately and handle sensitive information securely.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
* Experience in customer service or administrative roles is desirable.
* Knowledge of health and safety protocols is a plus.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
