Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Coventry

Salary: £26,423 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location: Coventry
Contract: Full Time
Working Pattern: Office Based

We are recruiting an experienced Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support women and children affected by domestic abuse.

You will provide specialist 1:1 support, manage a caseload, complete risk assessments and safety plans, provide advocacy and work closely with external agencies to ensure service users receive appropriate support.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support to women experiencing domestic abuse.
Manage a caseload and develop individual support plans.
Complete risk assessments, needs assessments and safety planning.
Provide advocacy around housing, benefits, legal and social welfare matters.
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
Make referrals to relevant statutory and community services.
Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
Support women affected by Forced Marriage, FGM and Honour-Based Abuse.
Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

About You

You will ideally have:

Previous experience within domestic abuse services.
Strong safeguarding knowledge.
Experience of risk assessment and safety planning.
Good case management and advocacy skills.
Understanding of the needs of BAME/BAMER women.
Knowledge of HBA, Forced Marriage, FGM and NRPF.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and within a multi-agency environment.
An empathetic, professional and non-judgemental approach.

Requirements

Relevant domestic abuse/support work experience.
Enhanced DBS.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
Relevant qualification such as an NVQ or counselling qualification is desirable.
