An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Outreach Support Worker to engage with and support individuals who are sleeping rough within the Wigan area.

You will be working for an excellent Wigan based charity, specialising in supporting individuals with mental health issues and complex needs due to being homeless and vulnerable on the streets.

As the Outreach Support Worker, you will be undertaking extensive street outreach both proactive and via referrals, build relationships and trust with the individuals and assess the needs of each individual sleeping rough, provide them with support services, accommodation and reconnection services. You will be required to complete risk assessments, report writing, and logging all activities. You will also liaise with local authorities, other agencies and specialist workers.

You will be a passionate team worker with good communication skills and have the experience with homelessness and vulnerable people. The ideal candidate will have integrity, thick skin and honesty. You will also have the drive and commitment toward the individuals you work with.

You must be flexible with your working hours as weekends, evenings, and early mornings are required. The successful candidate will ideally have at least 1 years social care experience and Health and Social Care qualifications. You will also be able to drive and have your own car.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £22,400 with benefits of a Simply Health Plan, Pensions, 22 days holiday and bank holidays on pro rata.
