Job Description

Our client is based in the Durham area and is looking for someone to join their existing team on a temporary basis, until at least mid-September, and would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work within the public sector. This is a personal assistant role and would suit organised individuals who understand the importance of effective communications.

Our client deals with the central functions of a Government Department and your role will be to provide a high quality, professional and responsive administrative service to the organisation`s Director of Finance, who`s team are an integral part of the Corporate Administration team. You will be expected to be able to manage your own workload and prioritise the demands of the role to ensure deadlines are met.
You will undertake various administrative duties, ensuring that timely, accurate work is produced to deadlines and work of a highly confidential, sensitive nature is handled with discretion and tact. The duties will include, but not be limited to:
Maintain realistic and manageable diaries, including that of the Director of Finance
Arrange Meetings and Equipment as necessary, including production of relevant paperwork, such as agenda and updates (meetings are currently being undertaken via TEAMS)
Attend and accurately minute complex internal and external meetings or events as required
Assist in the production or reports, spreadsheets and presentations when required
Screen correspondence, emails and telephone calls for the Director of Finance

This role is on a temporary basis working 37.5 hours a week. The pay rate will be £11.20 p/h.

The successful candidate should ideally have a proven track record of undertaking duties of a personal assistant, and be confident in their ability to learn quickly. They should also be an efficient minute taker and experienced in diary management, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience in One Note would be useful but not essential.
