Brook Street has an exciting new opportunity for a Qualified Paralegal to join a solicitor and estate agency based in Inverness. The right candidate will work as part of the team, supporting the delivery of a proactive legal service; providing practical assistance for legal and compliance issues.
Our client has been supporting clients throughout the Highlands for over 100 years offering a number of services including Estate Agency, Conveyancing, Wills, Executries, Power of attorney, and Family Law. This is an opportunity to work with a business that at its core, focuses on looking after their clients and supporting the local community.
You will have the following accountabilities:
" Supports the wider Legal Team, assisting with and co-ordinating discrete project tasks
" Completes client interviews and maintains general contact with clients.
" Conduct investigations, statistical and documentary research.
" Conducts legal research.
" Draft legal documents, correspondence and pleadings.
You will have the following qualities and experience:
" Qualification: Scottish Paralegal qualification
" Teamwork: Builds strong relationships within the legal team
" Organisation: Organised, prioritises own work and delivers to deadline, escalates issues appropriately
" Problem solving: Tackles problems head-on, works on own initiative, looks to provide solutions within agreed guidelines
" IT skills: Able to use Microsoft Office programmes, quickly learns how to use new software and able to teach other people (e.g. Sharepoint, VMR, Legal Tracker, R12, Teams, BMS)
" Business acumen: Has business insight and customer focus; numerically able - can be trusted to manage invoicing accurately
" Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication
