Our client is a well-established friendly professional legal- aid practice in the heart of the London Borough of Lewisham specialising in Family, Crime, Housing and Property Disputes, Community Care and Services for the Elderly, Public Law, Wills and Probate. The firm has served a diverse range of clients right across South East London for the last 20 years.

They need an experienced paralegal to support their criminal and family team. 80% of the work is emergency work where speed and quick thinking are key. The job can be highly emotional and stressful due to the nature of the work they are dealing with.

During the pandemic the work of the paralegal has changed as you will be supporting remotely - a mainly paperless system- where there will be endless phone calls and emails, to gather information and documents from 3rd parties, and to research and provide legal information to clients.

Your organisational skills need to be of the highest standard to cope with the fast pace and multi-tasking should be second nature.

This is an opportunity to get to grips with a wide range of cases at a local level. In the company's experience candidates who live in SE London are better suited as access to local courts and their client base will be important as lockdown eases.
