Job Description

During a period of expansion, my client has an opportunity for a new paraplanner to join their expanding and highly successful team. As a technical Paraplanner you will support the main financial adviser of the business and provide technical research and analysis of existing products, policies and funds along with the composition of compliant suitability reports.
To be considered for this position you must possess a Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent and possess a previous working history in Paraplanning within a financial services organisation.

This will be a busy and varied position and a fantastic opportunity to work in a great environment with fun, hard-working people. We actively encourage all members of the team to progress and further their studies in the financial services sector. Some travel may be required between offices in Tewkesbury and Clevedon on occasion.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

" Accurately and efficiently support the adviser to enable the achievement of targets
" Preparing information / comparisons for analysis / cash flow modelling
" Review / analyse investment portfolio / asset allocation / risk profile
" Prepare draft recommendation letters and compliant suitability reports with agreed recommendations
" Ensure all compliance paperwork is complete and in order
" Ensure all data gathered by the administrators concerning the clients Financial Portfolio is complete, accurate and up-to-date
" Research products available in the market, selecting those that are most appropriate for the respective client`s financial needs, priorities and overall financial position to recommend to the client
" Analyse the client`s current financial positions and given their priorities, in line with the Financial Adviser`s advice, make recommendation as appropriate· Contribute to the designing and updating of Suitability Letter templates so as to comply with current FCA, Regulatory and Legislative requirements
" Ensure Compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, escalating and breaches or concerns to the Compliance officer in a timely manner with full accurate informa-tion
" Maintain and proactively secure Product, Technical and Regulatory knowledge to enhance personal performance
" Overseeing changes to and implementing chosen investment strategies
" Establish strong client relationships
" Carrying out other office tasks and activities as required


Skills and experience required:

" Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent (level 4 minimum)
" Previous experience of Paraplanning within a financial services organisation (minimum 1 year)
" Good report writing skills
" Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
" In-depth understanding of compliance
" Prioritise and plan own workload
" Working to very strict timescales
" Own mode of transport
" Advantageous Skills:
" Previous experience using Intelligent Office (Intelliflo), Dynamic Planner (Distribution Technology
" Previous experience dealing with defined benefit pension transfers

In return for all the above you will be rewarded with a highly competitive basic salary of up to £35K which is pending experience, plus additional company benefits, private medical insurance and the option of flexitime.
