Job Description

Title: Administrator / Patient Bookings Officer
Location: Preston
Salary: £8.62ph ( £16,750 rising to £18,000 after 3 months satisfactory probation )
Type of contract: Temp to perm
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:45am - 4:45pm, 37.5 hours per week

The successful applicant will be working very closely with the senior staff to help to ensure the smooth running of the admin function. It is essential that the candidate have previous administration experience, as this is a fast-paced operational department during busy times.

Key Responsibilities:

" Dealing of clinic & patient appointment cancellations
" Basic office duties such as scanning paperwork
" Directing calls to appropriate staff members
" Responsive dealing with client and patient queries both written or verbal
" Maintain excellent working relationships with all clients.
" Effective liaison with client representatives e.g. NHS Trusts, independent hospitals, solicitors etc. Ensuring good working relationships are maintained at all times.
" Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the directors.
" Any additional administration tasks requested by the Customer Service Manager
" Ensuring all patients' privacy and dignity are respected at all time

Role Requirements:
" Proven experience of working in an administration role, minimum of 3+ years admin/clerical
" Experience in appointment bookings
" Knowledge of patient administration systems desirable but not essential as training will be given.
" Able to work independently and act on own initiative.
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills
" Good interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction with clinicians, patients and colleagues.
" Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads
