Job Description

Brook Street are currently recruiting for our client in Belfast for an experienced Payroll Administrator

The candidate hired for this role will be responsible for ensuring that ensure that the companies clients payrolls are processed accurately, in a professional manner and delivered right first time, every time.

Key Responsibilities:

* Key input into payrolls, check input and perform manual calculations
* Produce BAC`s reports for clients and ensure that they are authorised on time
* Ensure that all payments are processed correctly according to the agreed schedule
* Produce payroll reports and pay slips for the client
* Handle client queries in a professional and friendly manner
* Take full ownership of the query - ensuring that a resolution is delivered to the client on time
* Maintain communication with 3rd parties such as Inland Revenue, CSA, Pension Providers, etc
* Escalate issues to the payroll supervisor immediately if a problem occurs during processing
* Process end of year returns accurately and on time
* Maintain all necessary administration relating to the above tasks

Essential criteria :

* Hands on experience of working on a busy payroll
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Understand the need to follow established procedures
* Ability to use own initiative within a team environment
* Ability to use time effectively
* A progressive approach to change and improvement
* Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively
* Have a `can do` attitude
* Work well as part of a team

Essential Experience/ Qualifications

* Must have working knowledge of a busy payroll
* Good understanding of Payroll legislation
* Experience of processing payrolls accurately and on time
* Experience of working within a customer focused environment
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English


Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

* IPP qualified or equivalent
* Experience of processing payrolls in an outsourced payroll environment
* Desirable to have a full clean driving licence

Salary will depend on experience - up to 22k per annum
