Job Description
We are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant on a Temporary to Permanent basis. This is an immediate start opportunity for the right candidate
Working for a prestigious client of ours within the Education Sector. The role is based in Bilston and will be FT (37 hours per week)
Key Duties and Responsibilities;
1) To assist the payroll manager in ensuring that the payroll system and any payroll-related activity outstanding. Supporting with the resolution of pay queries and general administrative payroll duties
2) To assist in gross to net payroll operation for all employees including expenses, mileage claims and people receiving pension
3) To assist in checking exceptions reporting, processing of FPS / EPS submissions
4) To ensure accurate processing of statutory payments including SSP/SMP/PAYE/NIC and reclaim maternity payments from HMRC
5) To assist the payroll manager on all aspects of pension administration, assisting in Year End reconciliations and audits to ensure that the payroll is fully compliant
The Ideal Candidate will have a CIPP membership or willing to become a member and will have working knowledge of payroll operations
Essential:
Experience of working within private and public sector
Experience of running payroll and payroll related activities
IT literate and understanding of payroll systems and interaction with HR & financial reporting
Well organised, able to work within time constraints and auditable processes
Effective verbal and written communication skills with evidence of being able to listen
Desirable;
Experience of MHT (ITrent) packages and Business Objects
Salary Range £18395 - £21241.
There will be a competency based face to face interview for shortlisted candidates and the successful post holder will need to complete and pass an enhanced DBS
