Pay Roll Assistant - Temporary 3 Month

Location: Preston (Hybrid)
Hours: 37hrs Monday - Friday
Pay: £10.65ph


Purpose

Supporting the Payroll Team with a variety of data entry responsibilities and case management


Key Accountabilities

  • To process any returned payments and initiate case
  • To manage the monthly Mortality Screening process, ensuring pensions are suspended in a timely manner and cases are created for the Bereavement Team.
  • To process any changes to voluntary deductions and court orders.
  • To process any changes to bank details and to liaise directly with Western Union for any overseas payments.
  • To process any tax code changes as directed by HMRC.
  • To process any changes to voluntary deductions and court orders.
  • To ensure any BACS recalls are requested via the relevant client and to process the reversals of payments following confirmation of successful recalls.
  • To monitor the team mailbox and to create/update existing cases.
  • To provide responses to general enquiries - sometimes over the telephone.


Person Specification

  • Any payroll experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work accurately and to deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as being an effective team player,
  • Proven ability to follow processes correctly.


Qualifications

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • A recognised pension administration or payroll qualification (or working towards) would be desirable.
