Payroll Assistant
Salary: £26,500
Location: Croydon
Hours: Monday-Friday: 9am-5.30pm (37.5 hours)
Start: Immediately
Type: Permanent

I am representing a small team of chartered accountants who specialise in providing high quality accounting, audit and taxation services to businesses and individuals in the UK and overseas.

Currently seeking a Payroll Assistant to join the team based in Croydon who will be working closely with the Payroll Manager playing a crucial role in being responsible for assisting a portfolio of small and medium sized businesses.

As part of the payroll department, your role will be to ensure that the clients receive the assistance that they require, as and when they need it. You will also be responsible for dealing with queries relating to pensions, tax codes, benefits in kind, and all other payroll related queries.

The payroll process is currently carried out by the payroll manager along with the team of consultants, however as the business has grown, they have decided to expand their payroll department to be able to keep up with the growing demand.

Payroll Assistant Duties Included:

" Requesting funding and ensuring all net salaries and PAYE payments are made accurately and on time
" Ensuring all statutory liabilities for international clients are paid on time
" Confirming adequate funding is in place
" Completing year end filings
" Liaising and advising clients on UK and international payroll issues
" Setting up new clients on the UK payroll system and register PAYE schemes
" Developing good working relationships with the international payroll providers
" Raising invoices
" Assisting with weekly and monthly payroll cycles
" Completing payroll journals
" Excellent communication skills.
" Good excel skills
" One year's payroll experience.
" Sage 50cloud payroll software knowledge.
