Job Description

Brook Street are looking for two Payroll Assistants to join our public sector client NCA. If you are interested in this opportunity please read on.

Role Summary:

Payroll/Pension assistants provide support to the business in a number of key areas. Your role will typically involve administration of pensions/payroll to support the business, liaison with colleagues throughout the business, and maintaining payroll and pension systems to provide an effective service in line with statutory regulations
You will be have a high degree of accuracy in carrying out processes on a timely basis.

Your duties will include:

  • Processing new starters and leavers,
  • Implementing statutory changes from HMRC such as tax code changes and student loans,
  • Liaising with HR and applying changes relating to alternative working arrangements,
  • Promotions and all types of parental leave including SMP, SSP and shared parental leave and processing employees` expenses overtime,
  • Working in a timely and precise manner while adhering to company policy and procedures.


The role is very much customer service focused and you will need excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
Payroll experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given as long as office admin experience is demonstrated

This role is subject to a completed SC+ clearance which can take 3-4 months, references and an interview (dates to be confirmed). Applicants who meet the required standard may be invited to attend an interview where you will be required to bring ID, proof of address and National Insurance.
