Role overview:


NHS Shared services are growing their Payroll team in Sheffield! If you are customer-focused, enthusiastic and eager to learn then you could be part of a dynamic and rapidly growing company. Our experienced Payroll teams are already responsible for paying over 200,000 NHS employees each month, achieving 99.8% accuracy.

We train our employees to and excellent standard trough our robust training programme, if you join our team, you will get full training on payroll, legislation and your local NHS.

Key responsibilities:


o You will work within the guidelines of NHS SBS and Client policies and procedures, ensuring that Audit requirements are always met and deadlines are strictly adhered to.


o You will be responsible for dealing effectively with queries from customers both internal and external, always conveying a professional and efficient attitude. You will be supported by the Deputy Payroll and Pensions Manager, whilst abiding by NHS SBS and Client policies and procedures.


o Working closely with the Deputy Payroll and Pensions Manager for all aspects of payroll work, ensuring the continued smooth and effective running of the section and that all targets are met within defined deadlines.


o You will ensure that all National or Local payroll changes are dealt with in accordance with requirements, and that all customers are able to understand the changes that affect their pay.


o You will ensure that all documentation relating to statutory legislation and Terms & Conditions of service is kept up to date and is easily accessible to the rest of the team. Communication is key!


o You will make sure that all manual under/over payments are valid and correctly calculated and payments raised (if appropriate) on a timely basis.
