Job Description

I am recruiting for an experienced Pensions Administrator for a client based in Birmingham City Centre; working for a globally recognised and reputable business who are offering a salary of up to £26,000.

THE ROLE
Working in a busy team of 12 you will be responsible for processing and managing the company's pension schemes, both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution for current and previous employees. You will be tasked with calculating pension payments, answering queries and escalating any issues you encounter. Alongside your pension duties you will also be offering general administration support, communicating via face to face, phone and email.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Dealing with current and former staff and partners covering both DB and DC benefits
- Complete tasks concerning complex pension arrangements for scheme members
- Completion of routine calculations, processing of benefits for all movements and activity e.g. leavers, new entrants, retirements, transfers, deaths on a portfolio of schemes assigned to them
- Processing and setting up benefits either via the scheme and liaising with payroll as necessary, or via an annuity purchase.
- Calculating and processing any increases to pensions in payment as applicable
- Collation and collection of data/information to assist in the production of the scheme's accounts, actuarial valuations and group life re-broking as required on their scheme
- Produce stewardship reports
- Respond in writing to routine queries/requests from clients, members and other parties, seeking guidance from team members where necessary
- Complete cashflow forecasts and process disinvestments and investments as and when required
- Raise payment and receipt forms and processes these in line with each schemes requirements
- Assisting in completion of the annual renewal process and production of benefit statements
- Work on projects i.e. GMP remediation, change management
- Follow strict internal procedures
- Undertake routine tasks including logging post, photocopying and filing
- Building relationships with clients through day to day contact
- Manage outlook inboxes, logging and dealing with emails where necessary
- Full maintenance of members' records within the administration database
- Deal with member certificates/identification

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Previous experience within pension administration
- Demonstrates an understanding of pensions legislation
- Demonstrate good administration and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Have excellent communication skills via face to face, phone and email
- Experience within mailbox management (incoming and outgoing emails)
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Excel including the ability to produce manual calculations
- Ability to complete work to a high level of accuracy

- Monday to Friday 9-5 working hours
