Job Description

Permanent Painter and Decorator

I am looking to recruit several Permanent Painter and Decorators where you will be based at the clients location in Coventry with occasional travel to Wellesbourne.

The salary being offered is just over £22,000 and other benefits include: Pension between 2 - 5% with an employer contribution up to 10%, 26 days annual leave plus 4 customary days (usually taken at Christmas) and 8 bank holidays. You will also be entitled to the company dental plan, bupa cash plan 100, healthcare scheme and a health cash plan.

About the job:
As the Painter and Decorator you will provide an estates decorating maintenance service ensuring all statutory, planned and breakdown works are completed safely, cost effectively and to agreed KPI's and Service Statement agreement.

Key responsibilities include -

Responding to requests for emergency and general repairs such as emergency leak damage repair, severe mould treatment, dangerous loose tiles and urgent turnaround high priority decoration.
Wall papering and wall paper repairs
Carrying out repairs to a variety of substrates specifically walls, ceilings and woodwork,
Repair and make good damaged, flaking, water stained and mouldy ceilings/walls where damp has come through.
Repair and renewal of defective wall and floor tiles
Repair and replace coving where defective and/or requested
Responsible for the upkeep of painting walls/ceilings, fixtures and fittings, wall papering as well as general internal and external paintwork
Carry out caulking and general sealant repairs to buildings.
Carry out patch plastering jobs
Colour matching paints and measuring quantities as required, using specialist paints where required
Analyse fault find make decisions about the feasibility and logistics of the jobs to be undertaken, taking into account how long it will take, the equipment needed and the potential cost. Liaising with supervisor when necessary.

About you:
For this position you will ideally have a City & Guilds NVQ II or an NVQ III.
Extensive experience of decorating, tiling and patch plastering in a varied environment, for example working with a range of repairs and using a variety of materials and tools/machinery with the ability to install new wall coverings, markings and protective coatings.
Experience of using access equipment such as scaffolding, MEWPs, ladders, etc.
