Job Description
Our Public Sector client based in Birmingham City Centre is currently looking for a Workplace Support Worker to support one of their permanent members of staff. This will be Monday to Friday, usually working the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm. This will potentially be a 6-month temporary assignment, paying £11.88 per hour. This is role is expected to be onsite but has an option to offer some hybrid working.The role responsibilities are outlined below, but a full job description is available to candidates we would like to progress:This role would be to assist an individual with neurodivergent condition and visual impairment in a professional Learning and Development (L&D) role. The ideal candidate will provide tailored support to help the individual navigate the workplace, enhance job performance, and achieve professional growth. This role involves offering practical assistance and support to the individual, ensuring he can effectively contribute to his personal objectives and the Talent, Learning and Development (T,L&D) team objectives.Workplace support will consist of :-- Guiding the member of staff while navigating unfamiliar environments.- Assisting member of staff in dynamic social environments, such as meetings, conferences, and other events (e.g., identifying colleagues in the room, reading, and communicating body language etc.). - Attend both face to face and virtual meetings as appropriate (with occasional travel to Nottingham and other MoJ offices). Task management support:- Scheduling and booking rooms for meetings and events.- General management of calendars, schedules and action logs.- Provide admin support to help the member of staff prioritise their tasks, manage their time, and meet deadlines within their L&D role.- Attend and provide support in meetings as required, taking and distributing notes and ensuring action lists and reminders are accurate and up to date.Technical support:- Aiding the editing of audio-visual media. - Converting inaccessible documentation into accessible formats. - Supporting and directing a screen reader user in the interpretation and use of inaccessible media, software, and digital platforms Essential and Desirable Criteria Competent use of Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.o Confident verbal and written communicator, with good data entry skills ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.o Well-developed prioritisation, time management and organisational skills, being able to work on own initiative.o Ability to work effectively as part of a team, understanding commitment to equality of opportunity Problem solving skills This role will require a DBS check and three years referencing.If you feel that you would have the necessary experience and skill set for this role and are ready to take on a new challenge, please apply.
