Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Injury Claims Handler based in York. Your role will involve investigating and processing claims, within limits of authority and in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud to deliver fair outcomes and first class customer service.

You will be:
Recording information relating to potential new claims, liaising with Agents, policyholders and third parties to ensure the facts of the claim are established in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and SLAs.
Investigating, assessing and evaluating claims, within limits of authority applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud and appointing suppliers and experts as required, updating relevant parties and meeting customer service standards.
Making and communicating decisions regarding policy cover, liability and quantum in line with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and SLAs to ensure a fair outcome for members.
Building and maintaining relationships with underwriting, Agencies, other departments, partners, third parties to ensure the effective delivery of objectives and first class customer service.
Identifying, resolving and escalating complaints and breaches in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Delivering short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager.

We are looking for someone who has:
Previous personal injury claims experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience of working in insurance or within a financial services, regulated environment and experience of processing claims desirable
Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C, including Maths and English or equivalent.

In return you will receive a salary in the region of £18,000, annual bonus scheme (up to 10%), 25 days' holiday (plus Bank Holidays) which increases with service, competitive pension scheme, health and wellbeing plan and monthly contribution to your gym membership.
