Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available as a Mobile Testing Policy and Planning Officer within a Government body. The pay is £13.74 per hour, and the role is working within the core hours Monday - Friday. Contract Length - 3 months. Location - Home-based, occasional travel required to London (1 x every couple of weeks when lock-down is eased).

Role Description:
The Strategy, Operations and Planning team is responsible for your team's policy, including translating wider policy decisions into clear plans for your team and feeding into policy decisions.

As a Policy and Planning Support Officer you will be assisting with the development and monitoring of policy around the current and future modelling of your team, including responsibility for data analysis and owning discrete workstreams for delivering on new policies and applications.

Depending on skills and experience your role may be to:
o Provide high quality administrative support as required
o Being able to organise the planning and execution of new initiatives
o Support the development of the strategy and operational policy for your team
o Support in the statistical data and analysis of information
o Being confident in liaising with stakeholders

Skills Required
Essential:
o Good communicator highly organised and self-motivated individual
o Experience in working in a fast pace environment
o Ability to work confidently in Excel and PowerPoint to generate dashboards, conduct analysis, and create actionable insights to improve programmes
o Desire to work on complex problems and to contribute to Problem Solving sessions
o Ability to communicate complex concepts and policy ideas both in written form in Word and in PowerPoint, and in person in order to advance the policy agenda
o Willingness to build strong relationships with team members, in order to ensure that there is a supportive, and productive environment for all
o Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders from a public sector background to deliver on the key programme goals
o Able to prioritise your workload

Plus some experience in one or more of the following:
o working a policy or strategy team environment.
o Development of policy and process
o Guidance writing
o Reporting and analysis
