Job Description

A community organisation based in Hemel Hempstead are looking for a Premises Manager to help them run their building. The role will require you to ensure that all aspects of the site and buildings meets the needs of staff, students and visitors.

You will be a responsible key holder and be on duty at all whole school events such as open evenings, carol converts and new year 7 information evening. You will set up functions, monitor cleanliness of site and ensure regular clearing of litter is carried out and to support the premises assistant when necessary. You will conduct repairs as identified and prioritised, secure of all the schools buildings at the end of the day, ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff and also perform weekly cleaning spot checks.

As a manager you will be expected to manage the organisation, monitoring and review of external contractors (including service contracts), support the management in the evaluation of all external contractor, ensure that all contractors on site are DBS checked and have signed the asbestos register or in emergencies are supervised adequately. You will also have overall management of the cleaning staff, liaise with the contractors cleaners, grounds maintenance staff and all staff as required and also liaise with Network Services to ensure the implementation of agreed work. You will supervise the Premises Assistants and Cleaners (including formal weekly meetings), be responsible for all aspects of the school's heating system during the school day and if required during out of hours 'lets' and also identify of major repairs/maintenance and engaging the most cost effective contractor.

You will also manage and organise the weekly maintenance and cleaning of the school mini-buses, organise the servicing and MOT requirements of the school mini-buses, manage the overall daily management of the school site, organise all regular site inspections required under law and manage the repairs and maintenance budget In conjunction with Line Manager and the Finance & Administration Manager

The ideal candidate will be able to manage diaries, have excellent interpersonal skills with adults and students, excellent administrative and organisations skills and also be able to learn and operation new IT systems and databases. The ideal candidate will also be able to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision, able to stay calm and diplomatic under pressure and also be able to exercise sound judgement, especially relating to confidentiality and discretion.

In return the company offer a very competitive salary paying between £23,080 and £25,481 per annum. They also offer 23 days paid holiday each year plus bank holidays, business, access to the company pension scheme and free on-site parking.
