Private Client Secretary

The Law firm has over a centennial history within the legal business, specialises in Wills and Estate Planning, Family Law, Litigation and Disputes, Family Mediation and Commercial Property and can provide a successful candidate with a working environment to gain the skills needed to be successful and benefits which include an extra 3 days holiday during the Christmas holiday period.

The wills & probate department of a reputable Otley Law firm enquires an experienced legal secretary. This is a full time role but part time and or flexible working hours considered. Duties include dealing with clients, accurate typing of correspondence and documentation, maintaining diaries, opening files and taking responsibility by assisting with the management of a busy case load within our systems. Recent experience of working in a probate department is preferred. The right applicant will be flexible as well as confident and professional.

Main Duties:

>Typing from digital dictation, quickly and accurately and prioritising where required and/or noted

> Correcting the fee earner's obvious mistakes and checking where in any doubt

>Composing and producing routine correspondence and documents using the firm's Case Management System and assisting in on going developments of that system


>Making appointments for clients, maintaining the fee earner's diary and generally keeping the fee earner organised

>Making enquiries from clients and others, dealing with routine enquiries and taking messages

>Keeping the fee earner's filing system in order

>Opening new files and matters and keeping details of the fee earner's files on the database up to date

>Archiving and storage of files on completion of matters

>Ability to take initiatives and responsibility under the Fee Earners authority, and to communicate with clients directly.
Prior experience of the above

>Practical qualifications: Previous legal experience in Private Client
