Job Description

Our Public Sector client based in Lancashire are looking for an experienced Probation Officer to join their friendly and outgoing team, on a full time - temporary basis. This role is for 37 hours per week. Work location can be Preston, Chorley or Skelmersdale

This role will include but not be restricted to -

To assess and manage the risk posed by people on probation to protect victims of crime and the general the public by:
* Providing information and advice to criminal courts, other criminal justice agencies and partner organisations.
* Supervise people on probation subject to community orders and licences and during custodial sentences.
* Contribute to the management of risk.
* Work with other agencies and groups to prevent crime and meet the needs of victims and people on probation.
In line with PS policies and procedures, the job holder must at all times demonstrate a commitment to equality and inclusion and an understanding of their relevance to the work they undertake.
The post holder must adhere to all policies in respect of the sensitive/confidential nature of the information handled whilst working in this position.

You will need to have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Probation Officer role and be able to demonstrate good customer service skills. Our client is looking for a confident individual who is comfortable in dealing with various members of the public

You will be based on site in one of the following locations, Chorley, Skelmersdale or Preston, all are easily accessible by bus, car or train. Holiday pay, pension scheme and other employee benefits are also available

The start date is as soon as possible, however this does depend on various security checks. You will be required to show a minimum of a valid right to work document along with proof of your current address and your national insurance number
