Process Assistant

Are you looking to work in an established public sector organisation in Newport? If so, then this role is for you!

Managers are looking for the following as desirables :- The candidate must be able to interpret potentially complex documents, be able to work to tight deadlines, show attention to detail, have good communication skills, good team worker.

General understanding of expenses. Finance experience not required.

Role Overview

To assist in the provision of transaction processing services to one or a number of clients. To be responsible for defined core administrative, operational and/or technical activities within a section or department. You will provide a range of straightforward, routine services often as part of a team engaged in similar activities. This may involve responding to routine queries, issues or circumstances, and referring any unusual or non routine situations to others.
Expenses Compliance and Public Interest Transfers (Moves of Home)
Expenses Compliance - The job role includes interpreting potentially complex Client policy to determine if a Client employee is entitled to expenses claimed and whether those expenses should be taxable. This is carried out prior to payment. Regular contact is made with Client policy to clarify disputes and results are reported to the Client on a regular basis.
Public Interest Transfers (Moves of Home) - Includes interpreting Client policy to determine what the Client employee is entitled to claim. The role also includes liaising with a third party supplier regarding the actual move of home.

Key Responsibilities
Process work in line with agreed procedures, business rules or scripts - Processing work could include making calls, answering telephone, emails, queries, taking messages or processing transactions.
Learn the procedures and understand parameters of producing a quality output.
Process work to the defined level of quality.
Resolve queries, escalate as necessary (i.e. a team leader/manager/other group), and log if appropriate.
To schedule and prioritise allocated work on a daily basis.
Distribute information and when required, work to the other team members or groups.
Identify and suggest areas of improvement.
Maintain and update information held on a data base or manually.
Support line management on any additional admin when required.
Liaise with internal/external clients.
Print/post data/reports/invoices daily.
Maintain records for audit purposes.
Ensure deadlines are met.

Working Pattern:

Standard shift timings will be 8:00 til 16:00 but late cover shifts of 9:30 to 17:30 will be required. This could change subject to business needs.

Hourly rate £9.49 p/h
