Production Manager

Job Description

Our Slough based client is recruiting for a Production Manager to join their busy and growing company.

As a Production Manager you shall be exposed to all aspects of production - from new product development to factory optimisation, co-ordinating your workforce to ensuring outbound supply to some of the world's biggest retailers. This is not a desk-based role dealing with production in a distant land; you have the opportunity to be hands on with production in a daily basis.

Production Manager Role:

Your daily task will be to oversee circa 15 Production Operatives organising and monitoring work-flow on the production floor with a view to improve employee efficiency to maximise production output. Additionally, it is important to ensure the production floor is clean and safe for all staff members.

Job Duties

Develop and implement production policies and procedures
Delegate manufacturing tasks so that team can meet production deadlines
Manage the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor
Communicate expectations to production workers and appraises their performance
Educate production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices
Establish priorities to ensure manufacturing team works most efficiently
Check manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure efficient work-flow is maintained
Address production problems as they arise
Evaluate new production equipment
Report on team performance to Production & Planning Manager
Make recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs
Recruit and organise training for new production workers to perform their duties
Counsel and discipline production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies
Implement recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies
Nurture cooperation and communication within production team and other departments
Skills and Qualifications:

Experience of leading a team in a Production environment
Good Written and Oral Communication Skills,
Problem Solving Abilities,
Delegation,
Ability to Work and Make Decisions Under Pressure,
Time Management Skills
