Advert Title: Production Officer - Band 3 - HHTO
Salary: £8.72/hour for the first 3 months - after 3 months pay rate increases to £10.09/hour
Location: Southampton (SO16 5AF)
Job Type: Temporary on-going assignment
Immediate opportunity is available with our client, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHS BT), who are looking for Production Officer to work within Southampton.
As a Production officer, you will be required to perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks for issuing to hospitals the blood donations from their donors, with the support of the supervisor and other team members
What you'll need to do:
- To undertake precise repetitive manipulation of equipment and blood samples/donations and carry out routine tasks on a regular basis
- To handle blood bags and a range of equipment
- To work variable hours and days, weekends and bank holidays as per the roster within the department (unless otherwise rostered within the shift agreement) with appropriate notice
- To manually handle equipment on a daily basis weighing up to 13 kgs, with or without mechanical aids, with appropriate training

- Communicate succinctly, clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing
- Be an effective team member who is able to relate to colleagues at all levels across our large multi-site organisation with tact and diplomacy
- Recognise your own job role boundaries / limits of practice and know when to ask for guidance
- Follow written instructions and ensure the services you provide are in line with standard processes and good practice, showing attention to detail
- Prioritise own workload and take responsibility for delivering results within agreed timescales and standards with changing priorities and pressures
- Use initiative to look out for issues at work, acting quickly and calmly to focus on finding a solution
