Job Description

The Armed Forces Recruiting Programme (AFRP) is a high value, Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) tri-Service programme with a required in-service date of 2024. The AFRP is a high profile, exciting and fast paced programme. This role will be future facing, working to design and then deliver the future tri-Service recruiting solution in collaboration with a future industry supplier.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Project Delivery team supporting the Competitive Dialogue process, and will be able to evidence that they have an eye for detail and adopt a customer focused approach while being able to deal with conflicting deadlines.

They will have good communication skills including experience of demonstrating the ability to develop good working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and a good working knowledge of Project delivery and practices across the breadth of the Project lifecycle. The candidate will have evidence to demonstrate the ability to adopt an innovative and flexible approach to identifying risks and issues and the options around mitigation. The candidate will be using P3M programme management methods, standards and processes; implementing them into the Project and maintained throughout the Project lifecycle.

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting in the build, management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution of tasks and dependencies are included to achieve delivery goals and support the Competitive Dialogue Project Manager with delivering agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Assist with day-to-day management of the project, setting project controls and supporting project assurance; helping to design the project structure which is appropriate to each stage.
  • Track and report delivery against key milestones for the Project.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks and ensuring these are effectively communicated with the CD Project Manager. Working alongside the CD Project Manager and PMO BRAIDO lead to develop mitigation plans and monitor their progress against the risks, and identifying where risks and issues may need escalation following the correct processes.
  • Support the CD Project Manager in ensuring benefits relating to CD are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned.
  • Support the CD Project Manager in scheduling and managing resources to deliver the project, utilising the Agile Sprint methodology and working both independently and as part of the wider PMO team.
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are followed to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.

Essential Experience:

  • We are looking for supporting candidates that have used Outlook/ SharePoint previously and can act proactively to solve any problems.
  • Experience of working within a Project Delivery Team.

Pay rate: £13.70/hour, M to F - this role is full time (37.30 hrs per week)

MOD - location: Malborough Lines, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8HJ, ROLE- WORKING REMOTELY, ALL IT EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED.

Length of assignment: until 27/07/22
