Job Description

We are looking for a project manager to join our client Health Education England (HEE) on a 6 month temporary contract

If you are an experienced project manager who is looking to get into the public sector then this may be the opportunity for you

  • Location: Working from home but must be local to Leeds/Sheffield as you may on the rare occasion be require to attend the office
  • Hours: Monday- Friday 37.5 hours a week - hours are flexible
  • Assignment length: 6 months from start date
  • Salary: £19.89 per hour (annually 38,785)

Health Education England (HEE) exists for one reason only: to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place.

The key role of the PM is to manage the specification, planning and delivery of e-learning sessions.

The Role:

  • To be accountable for the activities and deliverables define within the Project Proposal Document and to produce all appropriate project documentation as relevant to the project
  • To communicate regularly, as defined in the Project Plan, and as appropriate to the audience requirements, this will include both progress reports and milestone plans
  • To identify, manage and control all risks to projects
  • To ensure that all project deliverables meet the agreed quality criteria and internal quality standards
  • To own and deliver the Communications Plan for projects, and ensure that internal and external stakeholders are kept fully informed of project progress
  • To manage the resources allocated to your project including Learning Designers
  • To organise and attend all Project Executive Meetings and other meetings as required
  • To enable all project staff to fulfil their role by ensuring that everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities and the standards to which they must operate and that an adequate communication method is in place
  • To support communications and marketing activities for projects and work with the Communication and Marketing Lead to plan promotional activities as and when necessary
  • To support continuous improvement across the organisation, through the development and communication of project management best practice, and regular formal review of projectmanagement processes
  • To deliver the e-LfH Products to the timescales, budget and quality standards agreed and documented in the Project Proposal Document and to support the evaluation of the benefits of the delivered product across all stakeholders
  • To escalate risks and issues on design and development to the Content Development Lead
  • To support the development of ideas, concepts, templates, processes and tools within the team
  • To make full use of communication tools available to ensure that the virtual team ethos is supported

The successful candidate must:

  • Project management qualification(s) in methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile - desirable
  • Experience of education or educational technologies - essential
  • Experience of planning and managing the delivery of large e-learning projects - essential
  • Experience of technical understanding of the products used in elfh and the NHS - essential
  • Experience of planning and managing the delivery of e-learning projects (or similar) across a range of sizes - essential
  • Experience of developing, justifying, communicating and maintaining project plans and associated project documentation - essential
  • Ability to develop and justify estimates for development and delivery activities - essential
  • Excellent communicator and planner of communications - essential
  • Able to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and aspirations within the constraints of processes, standards and budget and to ensure that delivery remains the key focus of all those involved in the project - essential
  • An ability to identify, analyse and manage risk - essential
  • Ability to define project management activities and ensure that they are planned, communicated and adhered to - essential
  • Experience of implementing e-learning (or similar) solutions across national organisations - essential
  • Experience of implementing solutions on specific technical infrastructures (LMS or CMS preferred) - essential
  • Ability to identify and define project benefits and key benefit enablers across all product stakeholders and to develop plans for measurement of benefit realisation - desirable
  • Experience of working with distributed teams - essential
  • An ability to build and maintain relationships enabling management of communications at all levels of the project - essential
