Job Description

Our public Sector Client based in Telford but currently working from home is looking for a Project Support Officer to fully support a key programme of work. The role is paying £10.67 and then £14.40 in the 13th working week.

This is a great opportunity to join a high-profile Programme of work within a Borders and Trade. Working in a fast-paced environment, on a priority programme that assesses and delivers policy changes. The successful applicant will need to ensure effective business processes and IT systems operate at the border and enable the continued safe movement of goods, passengers and parcels when the UK leaves the EU with or without a negotiated agreement.

As a Project Support Officer, you will be responsible for projects or work strands within complex projects or programmes. You will need to be someone who can help develop and initiate new projects by conducting pre-discovery to determine feasibility. You will optimally support and deliver specified elements of the Project, on budget, to specification and aligned with project governance, ensuring the processes and experience are in line with departmental and ministerial requirements.

Your main role will be to support the project/programme to deliver the required outcomes, raising issues through agreed governance for any changes to scope, benefit or cost. You must handle risks, issues and dependencies, raising where needed. Work with a diverse range of partners across the organisation taking account of their levels of influence and interests, ensuring all individuals have been engaged in the development and deliverable initiatives. You must have the ability to flex across a range of priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Providing visible leadership and encouraging line management across the strand and programme, to all grades and to stakeholders. Frequent travel & overnight stays will be expected in this role.

Ideally this role would suit someone who looking to develop themselves by working on a major and high-profile Civil Service programme and has previous experience in project Co-Ordination.
