Job Description - Project Support Officer (Administrative)

This role will provide admin support services to the team ensuring that we are able to react and respond to changes effectively, quickly and efficiently.
We are looking for someone with the right personal skills and able to adapt to the changing needs of the business and the team. The successful candidate will be required to provide admin support to the ISC Portfolio Office as required.

Essential Criteria
" Someone who is proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
" Experience of working in a project and/or programme environment.
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an understanding of the use of different channels and formats for different audiences.
" Ability to manage own time and priorities effectively.
" Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at every level within an organisation.
" Good organisational skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective administrative processes.
" A high attention to detail.
" Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

" APM Project Management Qualification


Please provide a description of the role and any key deliverables:

" Support governance meetings at programme and portfolio, arranging the meetings (and planning meetings), developing board packs with contributions from presenters, and chasing action owners.
" Support on the end-to-end process for recruiting and on-boarding contractors, working with the hiring managers and commercial colleagues.
" Support the implementation of associated policies and ensuring that they are adhered to, e.g. health and safety policy.
" Provide guidance and advice to the Programme team members on PMO processes and best practice.
" Maintain an overview across all programme plans and delivery against critical paths, escalating potential delays and its impact.
" Promote and embed the use of SharePoint across the team.
" Provide administrative support to the Portfolio.
" Booking meeting rooms.
" Management of our team mailboxes and calendars.
" Updating distribution lists.
" Ad-hoc requests including collection and analysis of data.



The pay rate is £14.84 per hour. The assignment is for 6 months.
It will be hybrid work - approx. 3 days at home and 2 in the office based in Westminster, central London.
If successful at interview stage, you will need to be vetted to SC level before you can commence in post. In order to process the clearance you will need to have a valid passport, 2 x proofs of address, and proof of NI, and must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
