Job Description

Education Authority Northern Ireland have enlisted the assistance of Brook Street (UK) Ltd in securing a Psychology Assistant for their Education Psychology department based in Belfast.

The successful candidate will assist the Psychologists who are working within Education Authority Northern Ireland and, as a Psychologist Assistant, will contribute to the Education Authority's responsibilities for children with special educational needs and will contribute to the provision and development of an effective and high quality Psychology Service in the Education Authority.

Working under the supervision of an Educational Psychologist, the Psychology Assistant's main duties will be to contribute positively and in a complementary way to service delivery of the EA Psychology Service. Duties will include assisting with the assessment of children, communicating results to parents and Teachers, recording the results of assessments and the advice given, and monitoring the effectiveness of Stage 3 and Stage 5 interventions.

Applicants must have a 2:1 Honours degree in Psychology, and must have a minimum of 12 months' experience of working with children in an education, youth, or health & social services setting.

The rate of pay for this role is £10.70 per hour, the hours of work are 0900-1700, and the days of work are Monday to Friday, and this role is based in Armagh.
