Job Description

I am recruiting for Materials Purchasing Assistant for a client based in Stoke on Trent. They are offering a basic starting salary of approx. £24,000

THE ROLE
Candidates should be experienced in materials management and have some experience in purchasing, be able to meet strict deadlines, prioritise multiple work-related tasks and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
The position will cover a broad area of responsibilities including:

Daily management of raw material and packaging purchase orders to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
Analysis and interpretation of MRP information in order to react to changes in demand.
Daily communication with production staff, suppliers, to ensure timely delivery of critical raw materials
Communication of critical supplier related information to customer facing staff
Updating purchasing and supplier information records
Analysis of vendor performance, including tracking of non-conforming material deliveries
Stocktaking - both physical and administrative.
Other ad hoc administrative tasks as required

HOURS

This department is based on working on a 9-5 basis, Monday to Friday.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The key qualities my client is looking for are:

Candidates should have experience in a materials management/purchasing function and be proficient in Microsoft office applications.
Accurate and numerate
Strong Excel skills
Ability to complete tasks to strict timescales
Excellent IT skills and ability to analyse and interpret data
Team player
