Job Description

I am currently working with a market leading provider of children's services supporting children with mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

They are currently a seeking a REFERRALS OFFICER that will focus on the whole referral process from start to finish. You will be based remotely and within the head office base in Nottingham.

This role will mainly focus on screening incoming child referrals and identifying positive matches to our residential homes, so I am looking for someone who can make every effort to ensure a child's placement has the best chance of success. The individual will need to be confident making phone or video calls, as well as building up relationships with Local Authorities and other professionals to facilitate positive placements. This individual will work closely with the Operations Manager and Directors, as well as the Homes Managers.

The ideal candidate will have:

o Experience working in Children's residential social care.
o Confident communication and negotiation skills.
o Strong IT skills, in particular using, creating and managing documents in Word and Excel.
o Ability to collate and assess complex and detailed information, received from a number of stakeholders.
o A high level of organisation, working flexibly to prioritise and balance competing timescales.
o A commitment to Safeguarding.
o Relevant Children's Social Care qualification.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

o The principal responsibility of the role is to enhance the residential referral process so that referrals are responded to in a timely manner; strengthen the existing partnerships with local authorities so that the service is one of choice.
o Work directly with the operations team to secure appropriate referrals into the service to meet developmental and growth targets.
o Maintain strong lines of communication with the Operations Manager and Home Managers to ensure placement decisions on referrals are speedy and within an agreed timeframe. Develop a clear understanding of key audiences and best channels of communication.
o Under the guidance of the Operations manager, you will build positive working relationships with other professionals, such as social workers and commissioners and other key stakeholders.
o Work within the code of confidentiality and ensure that records are maintained and stored and held in a manner which is compliant with GDPR regulations.
