Job Description

Relief Hostel Worker
Harrogate
Hourly Rate:- £12-£14 an hour
Night Shift: 12 hours

Do you have experience in working with Hostels/Homelessness?
Do you have patience in communicating and passionate about making a difference?

16 bedded Residential Hostel provides a safe place to stay while they work together with residents to provide support and reach goals. The hostel also provides emergency cover for rough sleepers. The hostel aims to help residents move on to independent living, whether this be one of there own accommodations or local authorities, which they help to organise. Residents are supported even when they leave the hostel to ensure the best possible outcome.

Some experience of working in a similar setting is essential as the circumstances of the people being supported will e complex. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Roles & Responsibilities:-

" To provide cover to the hostel during the day and evening, ensuring safety of the residents and the building.
" Support tenants with benefit claims and housing applications.
" Support the process of management of tenancy related issues such as new tenancy sign up`s, tenancy warnings, end tenancy and repairs under the direction of your line manager.
" Develop open, honest, supportive and professional relationships with people who use our services and maintain confidentiality.
" Contribute to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse and harm to themselves
" To maintain accurate records as required by policies and procedures, proactively contributing to continuously improving the service by making positive suggestions, providing constructive feedback and assisting in the implementation of agreed new ways of working.
" Provide regular support to tenants in line with their agreed level of support plans and any other duties as required.
