Residential Support Workers!
" Salaries up to £20,571 Depending on qualifications

Our client is a specialist independent school supporting young people from 11-19 with ASD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.


We are looking for a committed and hardworking Residential Support Worker. You will work closely with the other RSW's providing directed support, care and supervision to children including those who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated language, interaction, learning, communication difficulties and behavioural difficulties.


The aim of your support and guidance will be to enable the children in every aspect of their lives. You must have some experience working with either children or adults with complex needs and resilience is essential you will deal with challenging behaviours.


You should have a quiet and encouraging manner with the ability to remain calm in difficult situations, along with excellent verbal communication skills and an awareness of the importance of inclusion for children and young people with Special Education Needs.


Role Requirements:
" To respond to and meet the identified needs of children/young people as outlined in individual care plans and as agreed with the manager.
" To work in partnership with young people, their families, social workers and other relevant agencies, in meeting the needs of young people.
" To ensure that work with children/young people is in keeping with legislative, procedural and good practice requirements.


Essential Criteria:
" Maths & English GCSE (A-C Passes)
" Familiarity with needs of vulnerable people
" Knowledge of the features of Autism Spectrum Conditions, and language and communication needs.
" Willingness to work towards Level 3 in young peoples workforce.
