Job Description

Our client, a Chartered Professional Body, based in Edinburgh city centre, is currently recruiting for a Research Centre Coordinator. This pivotal team role ensures you provide a focal point for research activities and information resources. You will be responsible for coordinating the day to day running of the research centre whilst providing administrative support to programme. This role also fulfils several governance related tasks, including committee secretariat and reporting.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

Experience of supporting projects involving a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent planning and organising skills and able to multi-task.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of working to tight deadlines and strong time management skills.
Minute taking and secretariat experience.
Strong IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages and databases
Experience generating high quality, accurate management information reports
A proactive approach with a focus on improving processes and solving problems.
Experience working with budgets.
Ability to be flexible with tasks undertaken.

Desirable:

Experience of working in a research environment, perhaps within a university, other professional body, charity or think tank.
Experience of updating and maintaining web content

Principal Accountabilities

Ensuring the activities are coordinated, with support provided to the Research Project Managers and the Manager.
Providing secretariat services to key research committees, steering groups and other research oversight groups to ensure effective operation of these groups and the volunteer time given to participate in them.
Providing administrative support to the Director panel.
Working closely with communications and marketing functions to develop and deliver relevant marketing material.
Maintaining a database and forward planner of the research programme across the whole organisation and monitoring progress to ensure that the organisation can track all research activities to gain maximum value from them.
Coordinating research events and outreach activities.
Gathering and presenting management information for governance reporting, including Directors` reports and committee dashboards.
Maintaining a database of research priorities for third parties to ensure that the client has a view of the external actuarial research environment.
Supporting the administration of budget and financials.




Additional Information

The role is based in Edinburgh. Occasional travel may be required from time to time to support events or attend meetings.
