Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Support worker to join a team based in Oldham in a 4 bedded Children residential service. The service supports Children and Young People with Emotional and Behavioural needs.

You will be joining an organisation that works with every child and young person accessing their services to enable them to fulfil their potential. Their services are always cosy, homely and safe. They support individuals by taking time to get to know them and fully understand everything that could affect them. They work with them to understand what they want and help them with future plans that could be education or employment related.

Your role as a support worker will be to support the team and the young people. You will be joining a small but very passionate team. You will be responsible for helping the young people feel safe and at home. You will support the young people to access education and to be involved in activities and hobbies. You will get to know the young people so you can understand them and how they are feeling and why they are feeling that way. You will work with them to break the cycle of perhaps using drug and alcohol to deal with the trauma they have experienced.

You will ideally be an experienced support worker that has worked in a residential service before. Ideally to have completed your Level 3 in Children and Young People workforce or you would be willing to complete this. You will need to be a fun and kind candidate that wants to make a difference to the young people. You will need to be a driver as you may be taking the young people to school or out to do activities and hobbies on evening and weekends.

You will need to be able to work shifts that are 24 hours (11.30am - 12pm). You will be paid an additional £40 per sleep in. You will be working full time so you will be working a minimum of 2 shifts a week.

The salary is £21398 - £23933 (This included 2 sleep ins a week so could be subject to change)
