Job Description

We are looking for a Residential Children`s worker. You will be working in a 4 bedded service that is in Heaton Mersey, Stockport. You will be working for an organisation that has several residential and supported living services across the North West.

You will be working for an organisation that provides exceptional care and specialist placement options. They look after their staff and work on high staffing ratios to ensure the people they support are given the best care possible but also their staff are happy and safe.

You will be working with children that have Emotional Behavioural Disorder (EBD) providing them with day to day support. You will work as part of a team to provide this support, so it is important that you are a team player. You will be providing a safe and nurturing environment for the young people and will support and encourage the young people to take part in activities and hobbies. You will be going out with the service users so you will need to have a Full UK Driving Licence and a car available.

You will need to have experience working within learning disabilities or mental health in a health care setting. It would be an advantage if you have supported people with challenging behaviours or a therapeutic setting. And an even bigger bonus if you have a Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent, if you do not have this you will need to be willing to work towards it.

You will need to be flexible and able to undertake shift work which include weekends and sleep in shifts. You will be working on a two week rolling rota, the first week will include 5 shifts (14 hours plus sleep ins) and the second will will include 2 shifts (14 hours plus sleep ins).

You will be paid £23,294 - £24,237 (This will be depending on experience and includes 7 sleep in a two week period). Your hourly rate is £8.25 - £8.90 per hour depending on experience. You will be paid £34 for each additional sleep in.
