** £24,000 - £26,000 **
** 40 hours per week shift work - 1 minimum sleep in a week paid (Additional £30) **
** 7.30am - 3.30pm / 2.30pm - 10.30pm spread across the week with alternating one weekend on and one weekend off **
** Chilldren and young persons residential home with learning disability needs, challenging behaviour **

BS Social Care is currently recruiting for a Residential Senior Support Worker in Corby of Northamptonshire for a permanent and full time role to work with children and young people aged up to 18 years old. This is a small organisation at the start of their journey with the children and young persons setting.

About the employer; this employed is based in Corby.

About the job; you will be part of a team managing up 4 Residential Support Workers completing two weekly supervisions until they have completed their probationary period of 6 months. You will support the team support up to two residential young people with severe and complex needs with disorders.

You will be involved in the leading staff with delivery and weekly auditing of the young persons agreed care and learning plans on a weekly basis; lead and support a variety of leisure activities, including trips out into the community, planned as appropriate for the individual young person. You will be required to accompany young people with a staff group to holiday locations and short break accommodation provided by the company.

If you hold a full UK driving license there is an expectation that as part of your duties and responsibilities you will transport the young people in the company vehicles.

About the ideal candidate; you will hold an understanding of the needs and rights of young people with complex needs.Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the behaviours and the learning difficulties associated with young people. Be able to support the young people with domestic duties.
Be patient, resourceful and level headed in coping with challenging behaviours. Have effective communication skills; written and verbal. Be able to liaise with relatives, colleagues, professionals and other external agencies. Be able to participate in hand over meetings and use written procedures as required. Be able to work cooperatively within a team. To be sensitive to the special needs of the young people that reside at the home. To be able to maintain confidentiality. Show initiative, flexibility and be calm in a crisis. Show a willingness to learn. Willingness to participate in supervision and appraisal. Be committed to develop further skills and understanding of care provision in general and complex needs by attending training programmes both in house and external. Be physically fit to cope with demanding and challenging young people. Be reliable, positive and punctual. Be able to work shift patterns. Preferably have own transport. Hold experience in a care setting or similar is necessarily required. Hold experience working with young with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour is essential. Have full and verifiable employment history that shows consistency

A salary of £24,000 - £26,000 with an extra £1,560 = £25,560 - £27,560 will be offered for this full time and permanent role as a Senior RSW alongside an induction, training and qualifications.
